The Alpbachtal

authentic, cosmopolitan & original

Magnificent mountain air, old wooden houses, people with character - the Alpbach Valley is a place to take a deep breath.

The mountain village of Alpbach is situated on a sunny plateau at an altitude of almost 1,000 metres above sea level in the Tyrolean lowlands. The sun-browned wooden houses are built into the slope like terraces. A beautiful village with a wide, open landscape here in the Kitzbühler Alps.

Values and traditions, privacy and hospitality are very important in Alpbach. The community of Alpbach, with its 2,500 inhabitants, not only enchants its guests with its colourful flowers in summer, it also provides many arguments for a varied holiday in the Alpbach Valley  just an hour's drive from Innsbruck, all year round.

In summer, the region awarded the Austrian Hiking Seal of Quality attracts numerous mountain sports enthusiasts and nature lovers every year. In winter the ski area Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau is a wonderful enrichment.

Your Alpbachtal Card entitles you to numerous free admissions such as to museums, the Regiobus and swimming pools as well as free cable car rides and many other discounts.

Timber construction style

with love for details

The pure nature resort the Böglerhof in Alpbach is centrally located in the Alpbach Valley, a side valley of the Inn Valley in the Kitzbühel Alps.

What makes the community special is the uniform and unique Alpbach timber construction style - the authentic timber houses convey tradition and originality in their purest form.

This natural and original Alpbach architectural style shows in a unique way the deep connection of people with nature. It is not without reason that wood as a building material is once again enjoying great modernity. Strong roots provide a sense of security.

Farmer´s Museum

on the trail of tradition

Because of the seclusion - a road was missing until 1926 - a separate building and living culture was created in Alpbach. Alpbach's farmhouse furniture and customs remained free from outside influences for a longer period of time. Not only the facades, but also the interior of the rustic houses are unique: the typical Alpbach furniture is popular throughout Tyrol and Bavaria because of the quality of craftsmanship and painting.

These old-fashioned furnishings of all kinds, as well as butter churns, wooden skis, traditional costumes and other gems of everyday farming life, await guests in the popular Alpbach Mountain Farm Museum, a former farm in Inneralpbach.

"Alpbach crystal water" & more

The people of Alpbach are also particularly proud of their drinking water: Due to the excellent quality of the "Alpbach Crystal Water", the village was awarded the title "Crystal Community Austria" by the Research Forum Seibersdorf.

Keeping with this, in the kitchen at our resort we attach great importance to the conscious processing of regional products such as the local cheeses from the Alpbacher dairy farm - that our guests can also enjoy this high-quality pleasure during their holiday in the Alpbach Valley.

Congress Centrum Alpbach

green meeting destination

In the middle of the Tyrolean Alps, the impressive architecture of the Alpbach Congress Centre combines in a special way with the traditional architectural style of the Tyrolean mountain village. Because the building is embedded in the mountain, the unique townscape has remained completely untouched.

Since 1945 Alpbach has been the host of the European Forum Alpbach, which takes place annually in August and currently attracts more than 5,000 participants.

The Green Meeting destination impresses with a rentable total area of 2,796m² and state-of-the-art technology. Design highlights of the bright and friendly building are a spiral of glass that provides the foyers and rooms with plenty of daylight, as well as large window fronts with a view of the impressive Alpbach mountains.
