Tyrolean Gröstl potato fry-up
Create that Tyrolean holiday feeling at home with our recipe!
Did you visit our Hotel Böglerhof in Tyrol in summer or winter and fall in love with the excellent, authentic dishes meticulously created by chef Hansi Treichl and his team? Then you’ll adore our recipe for a traditional Tyrolean Gröstl potato fry-up.
Here’s what you need:
- 0.5kg boiled potatoes (from the day before)
- 200g cooked beef
- 1 onion
- 1 clove of garlic
- Oil for frying
- Salt and pepper to season
- Parsley or chives to decorate
And here’s what you do:
Cut the potatoes into slices and the beef into bite-sized pieces. Finely chop the onion and the clove of garlic and fry them in a pan with oil. Add the potatoes and beef and fry until crispy. Add salt and pepper to taste, dish it out onto plates, and then decorate it with parsley or chives.
For an especially authentic feel, why not serve the Gröstl in the pan and with a fried egg? You’ll feel just like you’re sitting in a mountain hut again!
